A young, American woman, Mary Jennifer Bautista (Marijen), inherits a tropical resort in the Philippines.
Marijen has a forgotten, Philippine blood line, as from both sides of her parents' families were Filipinos, generations removed from the homeland. Yet, as a 4th Generation legacy, she is 100% culturally American... She knows only that her heritage is 'Asian,' but not much more than that. Her early, immigrant ancestors made a decision to totally integrate to their new country that they pointedly refused to pass on any language or culture to their progeny. They were successful... too successful. Over the generations, they integrated so well to the USA that Marijen can't even identify her heritage country!
In her 100% American life, Marijen thinks little of international affairs as she peruses an early, burgeoning career in Music Marketing in Nashville, Tennessee... until the attorney meets at work with notice of a Last Will and Testament...
